Hello there! I’m Ben, and this is my website for the cool things I’m working on.
When my grandfather gave me his copy of Microsoft Visual Basic 5 I discovered that programming was my passion. Since then, I have been on a mission to learn as much about software development as possible.
I’m a huge fan of computer graphics programming (give me D3D11 over OpenGL any day, though I can do either), programming language & compiler design (shoutout to Crafting Interpreters), reverse engineering, and operating systems development.
But all these years of learning new things has led me to one surprising conclusion - teaching people has been vastly more personally fulfilling in pretty much every case. From teaching middle schoolers JavaScript game development to teaching FRC teammates Java to working in the CS lab helping students, the people have always shone beyond all the code I could ever write. And once I’ve done my time in the software development industry, I hope I can take all the knowledge I will have to students who might not have been blessed with the same opportunities that I was.
